If you're like us and have been faithfully watching fairy tales on TV since Christmas Day while eating cookies and enjoying the glow of the Christmas tree, we wouldn't be at all surprised if you got a little bored of them. So if you have finished watching this year's Home Alone and have nothing to do, we have good news for you. Although in the era of streaming platforms you can watch anything, anytime, we have five great Christmas movies for you that can be done without a subscription or the need to download anything. You can also play them on YouTube, in full version. For the most part, these are classics, but when else to catch up on ancient but still excellent Christmas movies if not now?

About the poinsettia

It wouldn't be a proper Christmas if some Czech fairy tale didn't appear on television, stirring up the stagnant waters of the cinematography industry. While last year the act did not go over well with critics and the general public, this year the situation is completely different. The filmmakers got away with the fairy tale About the Christmas Star, which doesn't skimp on jokes, offers a nice light-hearted atmosphere and, above all, plays with original subject matter and processing. Of course, it's not a world-class performance, but as such, a nice Christmas backdrop that makes sense in terms of the story will certainly suffice. You can see the full text below.

The Secret of Christmas

Have you ever met a life-sized Grinch, only not so green and ugly? If not, you should step up. The Christmas comedy The Secret of Christmas tells the story of Kate Harper, a TV reporter who reports on the latest events. The only problem is that Kate hates Christmas ever since she had a not so good holiday season. Fortunately, there is hope for her too, and as is often the case with comedies, an unexpected knowledge enters her life that significantly changes her previous view of the world and may even force her to look at Christmas more optimistically. However, her bosses are partly to blame for this, as they send her to a small settled town to look for the magic of Christmas.

A heart for rent

Put yourself for a moment in the shoes of a millionaire who works in the top management of one of the factories and signs lucrative contracts. He travels a lot, sometimes he even enjoys some fun, and at first glance, he lacks more or less nothing. And this is exactly what a young successful businessman begins to argue about after his superior wants to meet his family. But the problem is that he doesn't have one, so he decides to play an elaborate show. So he asks his employee to pretend to be his wife for a while, and as is often the case with similar films, it doesn't just stay at the theater. A heart for rent is a relatively good romantic film that somehow warms the heart, as the title suggests, and creates a proper Christmas atmosphere.

Christmas carol

Probably one of the most successful and at the same time most neglected Christmas films is A Christmas Carol, a film that may seem a bit archaic by today's standards, but even in this day and age it is an excellent piece that should not be missing from your radar. As the title suggests, the film is heavily inspired by the book of the same name by Charles Dickens, which tells the story of an obnoxious old man who only cares about money and himself. Fortunately, he is visited in time by three spirits who offer him insight and at the same time correction. However, do not expect a somewhat oppressive and serious undertone as in Dickens's book, quite the opposite.

Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean

Okay, we know we're cheating a bit here, but everyone probably knows Master Bean. This legendary British comedian made history and probably everything he could write. So it is not surprising that in the 90s a special feature was created, which contains a separate story and basically functions as a movie. Of course, there is also Mr. Bean's struggle and the hostility of his surroundings, which is very often thoroughly disillusioned by this comedian's stunts. So, if you really want to have a good laugh and you don't like romantic movies, or if you know English well, even if there is not much talking in the movie, there is no better choice than the movie Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean, which will not only give you a taste of the magic of that Christmas, but also will irritate your diaphragm.
