It may seem that the past year has been one big success for Samsung. In the flood of positive news and warmly received products, however, we can find a few dark spots that the South Korean company cannot boast of. In the overview, we present the three that saddened us the most during the year.

Samsung Galaxy Notes 20

If Samsung didn't get one phone right last year, it has to be the new entry-level version of the line Galaxy Notes. It was by no means a bad phone, its poorer qualities only became apparent when compared to other devices that were able to offer a better price-to-performance ratio last year. And other Samsung phones became its biggest competitors.

Its own improved version with the nickname Ultra became a big rival for the basic Note. It offered a better display, cameras and battery capacity. In contrast to it, the basic Note has become an unexpectedly unattractive offer. She also suffered with the arrival of the fantastic Galaxy The S20 FE, which underwent similar compromises as the Note, however, attracted a much more aggressive price.

Making fun of the iPhone for missing chargers

After the last few weeks of 2020, Samsung's jokes at the expense of Apple and the fact that the American company will not bundle a charger with the new iPhone seem rather absurd. In December, it was leaked to the public that the charging adapter will not be available for the S21 series phones, at least in some areas. Additionally, in connection with the leak, Samsung quickly deleted its past mockery of Apple from social networks.

The trend of the absence of chargers for mobile phones in the last week of the year stirred up the Chinese Xiaomi, which will not offer it for its new flagship either. However, the Chinese company will let users decide if they need an adapter and will supply them for free if needed. We'll see if Samsung follows a similar path. Let's add that multinational organizations are also slowly forcing manufacturers to take these steps. The European Union itself is planning to ban the packaging of chargers due to their impact in the production of e-waste.

samsung neon

Neon artificial intelligence was presented by Samsung at the beginning of the year at the consumer electronics fair CES 2020. In the future, it will have the task of creating and helping users with a number of different tasks. But its main draw is the ability to generate a realistic virtual person. Neon is thus intended to help interact with computers by displaying more pleasant virtual assistants.

However, Samsung did not officially reveal much at the said fair. Considering that this is a rather hotly anticipated technology, the company's silence is quite suspicious. We know that the service will be available in 2021, and only for businesses. If we will ever see the use of the attractive-looking assistant in devices from Samsung, no one knows yet. The company only confirmed that The Neon will not be part of the upcoming lineup Galaxy S21.
