Like ours previous news you know, Huawei decided to sell its Honor division at the end of last year under the increasing pressure of US sanctions. Shortly after, reports surfaced that chip supplier Qualcomm and the now standalone Honor were in talks to renew their collaboration. You now according to the server Android Authority confirmed by Chinese website Sina Finance.

More specifically, the website claims that the parties have already reached an agreement, citing Honor sources. According to him, Qualcomm did not require the regulator's approval to work with Honor, as Honor is not on the US Commerce Department's blacklist.

if they are informace website is correct, it would be a major "deal" for Honor, as chip supply has been one of the biggest problems for it (and its former parent company). When Honor was still under Huawei, it was heavily dependent on internal Kirin chips, which the Chinese tech giant (through its subsidiary HiSilicon) has been unable to produce for some time due to US sanctions.

Qualcomm is considered the global leader in chips, so a renewed collaboration with them would be a big win for Honor. If the companies have indeed started working together again, it's very likely that we'll see an Honor smartphone powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 888, later this year.
