Samsung as part of its CES 2021 virtual event in addition to new TVs NeoQLED also introduced new soundbars. All of them promise improved sound quality, and some even boast support for AirPlay 2 and the Alexa voice assistant or auto-calibration.

The flagship soundbar received 11.1.4-channel sound and support for the Dolby Atmos standard. The HW-Q950A features 7.1.2-channel audio (and two treble channels) and a separate set of 4.0.2-channel wireless speakers. Samsung also announced a 2.0.2-channel wireless surround kit for select Q-series models. This set is also compatible with the HW-Q800A model, a 3.1.2-channel soundbar supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X standards.

When paired with Samsung's Q-series smart TVs, select models of the new soundbars can take advantage of a feature called Q-Calibration, which calibrates the sound output based on where they are. The feature uses a microphone in the center of the TV to record the acoustics of the room, which should result in better sound clarity and surround sound effects. Some models also have the Space EQ function, which uses the microphone in the subwoofer to adjust the bass response.

Similar to Samsung's new smart TVs, selected models of the new soundbars support the AirPlay 2 function. Other functions include support for the Alexa voice assistant, Bass Boost or Q-Symphony. Bass Boost boosts the soundbar's low frequencies by 2dB, while Q-Symphony allows the soundbar to work together with the TV's speakers for richer sound. However, it only works with Samsung Q series smart TVs.

Samsung has not yet announced how much the new soundbars will cost or when they will go on sale.
