Samsung launched a laptop Galaxy Chromebook 2. Unlike its predecessor, its display will not offer a 4K resolution, on the other hand, thanks to the lower resolution, it will have a longer battery life, which was one of the biggest shortcomings of the "number one".

The novelty received a QLED display with Full HD resolution (the predecessor used an AMOLED display) and the same 13,3-inch diagonal. The screen retains its touchscreen functionality and is compatible with the S Pen (but that will be sold separately). The outer part of the body is made of aluminum as before, but the inner part is this time made of plastic to reduce costs. The device weighs approximately 1,23 kg and is approximately 1,3 cm thick.

The laptop will be available in two configurations – the lower will offer an Intel Celeron 5205U processor, which will complement 4 GB of operating memory and 64 GB of internal memory, and the higher will offer an Intel Core i3 processor with 8 GB of operating memory and 128 GB of internal memory. Both versions are equipped with an integrated Intel UHD graphics chip.

The equipment is completed by stereo speakers, a webcam with 720p resolution, a built-in security chip, two USB-ports (each on one side) and a Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 adapter. As for battery life, Samsung does not give an exact number (or rather, no number). however, due to the reduced resolution and the type of display used, a dramatic improvement can be expected (a few weeks old leaks talk about a battery life of around 12 hours, which would be roughly three times more than the predecessor).

The variant with a Celeron processor will be sold for $549 (roughly CZK 11), the version with Core i700 for $3 (approximately CZK 699). They are about 15 or $450 cheaper than the first one Galaxy A Chromebook that will continue to be offered. Samsung has not yet announced when the new product will go on sale.
