The Consumer Technology Association, organizer of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), has announced the winners of the CES 2021 Innovation Awards. Devices, platforms and technologies across 28 categories received the award. In the mobile device category, it was won by 8 smartphones, three of which were from Samsung's "stable".

In the mobile category, smartphones specifically received the prize Samsung Z-Flip 5G, Samsung Galaxy Notes 20 5G/Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, OnePlus 8 Pro, ROG Phone 3, TCL 10 5G UW, LG Wing and LG Velvet 5G.

An "elite panel of industry experts" consisting of 89 people praised the mid-range phone Galaxy A51 5G for "great value for customers", while the flagship OnePlus 8 Pro was called by experts laconically "a premium mobile smartphone".

The Asus ROG Phone 3, on the other hand, was praised for its cooling design, premium sound and "simple yet futuristic gaming-focused design". A separate award went to the Asus ROG Kunai 2 dedicated controller for it and its predecessor, the ROG Phone 3, which, according to reviewers, "provides a perfectly immersive gaming experience thanks to its modular design that creates new ways of playing".

This year's edition of the largest trade fair for consumer and computer technology in the world will officially start on January 11 and last until January 14. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this time it will only take place online.
