This year, Samsung wants to become a company that puts the customer first. Vice Chairman of the Board and CEO of the South Korean technology giant Kim Ki-nan said this on the occasion of the New Year celebration.

Last year saw radical social and economic changes in society and the economy, and this year, in the words of Samsung's boss, should be "the first to respond to changes and prepare for the future." Specifically, this means that Samsung should "turn into a creative company where challenge and innovation live and breathe, and where the customer is at the very center of attention, and which increases customer value and improves the customer experience."

These statements apply to Samsung Electronics as a whole, not just the mobile segment. Kim added that to adapt to the "new normal" and be better than others, the tech giant must make some necessary changes this year and continue to "build relationships with partners, local communities and the next generation while actively responding to societal demands."

Samsung already responded to the market changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic last year - for example, by helping mask makers increase production capacity through its expertise in smart factories, and also donating millions of dollars to organizations fighting the pandemic.
