Even though Samsung itself has been trying to carve out a new premium segment of the market from various types of foldable smartphones for two years, too many other companies do not believe in the future of this type of device. For the time being, Motorola is keeping company with the Korean giant with its new RAZR, and if we squint, so will LG with its Wing folding model. A slowly growing segment of the market can revitalize the foldable iPhone, which according to behind-the-scenes information Apple already testing. However, it should, like all Samsung models, be based on the concept of a folding body of the device. A more futuristic presentation of a folding phone was presented last year by Oppo with its prototype Find X 2021 with a scrollable display. According to new information from the consumer electronics fair CES, we should see the first scrolling device in stores already this year.

The plans were revealed by the Chinese company TCL. It boasted two types of scrolling displays. One with a diagonal of up to 17 inches, which should find a home in, for example, flexible TV screens, and the other significantly smaller for use in mobile phone displays. According to TCL, rollable displays are the future also because the process by which they are produced is up to twenty percent less expensive for the company's subsidiary than the production of classic screens. TCL has already presented a functional prototype of a phone with this type of display. According to the company, the finished device should reach the market already this year.
