Smartphone manufacturers have been making every effort to ditch bezels in recent years, and moving the front-facing camera below the display seems to be the next step towards achieving that goal. Samsung has reportedly been working on the under-display camera technology for quite some time, and according to the latest "behind-the-scenes" information, we could see it in a flexible phone later this year Galaxy From Fold 3.

However, a teaser video from Samsung's display division yesterday revealed that laptops, not smartphones, will be the first to use the technology. The video revealed that thanks to the under-display camera, the tech giant's OLED screen laptops will be able to have an aspect ratio of up to 93%. The company did not reveal which specific laptops will receive the technology first, but apparently it won't be long before it becomes a reality.

It follows from the above that at the moment we also do not know when we will see the technology in smartphones Galaxy. However, it is very likely that it will be this year (as in the case of laptops).

Samsung is not the only smartphone giant that is diligently working on sub-display camera technology, Xiaomi, LG or Realme would also like to make a world breakthrough with it. In any case, the first phone with this technology has already appeared on the scene, it is the ZTE Axon 20 5G, which is several months old. However, its "selfie" camera did not dazzle with its quality.
