With the rapid development of digital services and the new availability of digital content from various platforms, the demands for smart hardware to enable this digital content to be played are growing. With current smart TVs, and especially with older "dumb" ones, some functions and platform availability are limited or completely excluded. The solution is alternative systems, most often the so-called multimedia centers. The multimedia center is an external BOX, a plastic box that adds missing functions with software, such as codec support, access to online videos, data storage, sorting and sharing, and other functions. When buying a multimedia box, it is necessary to take into account the subsequent location and connection. Most common boxes are installed next to the TV, which can be a problem in the case of a wall-mounted TV or other similar location, especially if the wiring is to be hidden. The TV can also be located in public places, e.g. in a restaurant, pharmacy, shop or hotel reception, and such placement of the TV basically does not allow the installation of classic boxes.

For these situations, EVOLVEO offers a small, yet powerful multimedia stick that works like a classic box, but stands out with its small dimensions and powerful performance. Under small dimensions, we can imagine a standard pocket key/flash drive. Unlike other devices, the EVOLVEO Stick Y2 does not connect to USB but directly to the HDMI connector, which is usually located parallel to the back of the TV.

The main advantages of the EVOLVEO MultiMedia Stick Y2 are, in addition to the already mentioned physical dimensions, HDMI 2.1 support, image playback in 4K Ultra HD with HDR10+ with a frequency of up to 75 frames per second. It connects to the Internet using dual Wi-Fi, the stick contains a MicroSD card slot, 1 × USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2. The device drives clean Android version 9 Pie (AOSP) without added extensions, which we know from mobile phones or tablets. This allows both regular and more demanding users to use advanced functions and applications available from the Google Play library.
