As most Samsung fans are sure to know, Galaxy S21Ultra is the only model of the new flagship series Galaxy S21, which boasts 120Hz refresh rate support at maximum screen resolution. However, until now, no one except the Samsung Display division of Samsung knew that the new Ultra can boast - the first in the world - a new energy-saving OLED display.

Samsung Display claims that its new energy-saving OLED panel v Galaxy The S21 Ultra reduces power consumption by up to 16%. This gives phone users a little extra time before they need to charge it again.

How did the company achieve this? In her words, by developing a new organic material that has "dramatically" improved light efficiency. This is important because OLED panels, unlike LCD displays, do not require backlighting. Instead, colors are created when an electric current is passed through a self-luminous organic material. The improved efficiency of this material improves the quality of the display by improving the performance of its color gamut, outdoor visibility, power consumption, brightness and HDR. This improvement is made possible by the fact that with the new panels, electrons flow faster and easier across the organic layers of the screen.

Samsung Display also boasted that it currently holds more than five thousand patents related to the use of organic materials in displays.
