Samsung Display, which until now only supplied flexible displays to its parent company Samsung Electronics, will also supply them to Chinese smartphone manufacturers this year. He informs about it with reference to the Korean website ETNews server XDA-Developers.

According to the report, Samsung Display plans to ship a total of one million flexible displays to Chinese smartphone gamers this year. It also cites an industry source as saying that Samsung's division has been working with several Chinese smartphone makers for some time now, and that we can expect some of them to introduce smartphones with Samsung's flexible screen later this year.

In this context, it is worth noting that Samsung started sending samples of flexible displays to some Chinese manufacturers already two or three years ago. Huawei was among them, but due to sanctions by the US government, the possible "deal" never materialized.

It is also worth noting that Samsung Display is not the only manufacturer of flexible displays, they are also produced by the Chinese companies CSOT (which is owned by the electronics giant TCL) and BOE. The Motorola Razr and Huawei Mate X phones, as well as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold laptop, already have the latter's flexible panels. However, Samsung Display is currently the undisputed number one in this field, as can be seen on Samsung's current flagship foldable smartphone Galaxy From Fold 2.
