Since the announcement of Huawei's Harmony OS, there has been a lively debate on the airwaves about how much it will differ from the Androidu. It was not possible to answer this question definitively, as access to the beta version of the platform has been limited until now. However, now ArsTechnica editor Ron Amadeo managed to test the system (specifically its version 2.0) and draw conclusions. And for the Chinese technology giant, they do not sound flattering, because according to the editor, its platform is just a clone Androidin 10

More precisely, Harmony OS is said to be a fork Androidu 10 with the EMUI user interface and a few minor changes. Even the user interface, according to Amadeo, is an exact copy of the EMUI version that Huawei installs on its smartphones with Androidem.

In early January, Huawei senior manager Wang Chenglu said that Harmony OS is not a copycat Androidnor Apple's operating system, and listed the most important differences. He highlighted the potential for growth in IoT devices, the open-source nature of the system, one-stop application development or usability across a range of devices, from mobile phones to TVs and cars to smart home devices, as key benefits of Harmony OS.

According to Wang, Huawei has been working on Harmony OS since May 2016, and the company aims to release 200 million devices with this system to the world this year. At the same time, he hopes that in the future it could be 300-400 million devices.
