It's only been a few days since we updated you on the new text adventure game Black Lazar. We used this as an example of the return of a genre that has not been basking in the limelight for a few decades. Now on Android his next representative comes out, which again surprises with its complexity and attention to detail. After several months in early access, developer Peter Ravnholt is releasing his first Serania - Path of the Scion. It combines the text adventure genre with surprisingly complex RPG elements.

In Serania, you take on the role of a helpless villager who is suddenly pursued by the royal black guard. So he has to hide in the shadowy parts of the game world and figure out why the dreaded units are after him. During his journey, the nameless hero learns secrets about his past and meets many interesting characters. In addition to the main storyline, the game also offers countless side missions.

The text side of the game is cleverly combined with moments of decision that occur in smaller groupings to better express the urgency of different situations. In addition to clicking on text commands, Serania also offers classic RPG inventory management and tactical combat. For developer Ravnholt, it was a fundamentally personal work that he started working on after a series of life events. If you want to try it for yourself, you can Serania for free download from Google Play. About a quarter of the game is available for free, the rest is unlocked for an in-app fee.
