On February 19, the annual Blizzcon holiday awaits fans of games from the legendary Blizzard. The event, which is usually full of revelations, had to move to the online space this year. Card Hearthstone players are also waiting for the event - among other things, the developers should reveal a new set next week, which, like every year, will completely change the shape of the game with its arrival. However, we could not expect that the developers have other plans. Today they announced the arrival of a brand new format and a restructuring of the decks containing the base cards.
Personally, I am most happy to announce the new format. A new Classic mode will be added to Standard and Wild. This will contain only the basic cards, and that in the form in which they existed at the beginning of 2014. It will therefore be a time capsule that will return all witnesses to a moment in the life of Hearthstone, when the game was not yet plagued by an excess of random effects.
Another novelty is the complete restructuring of the set of basic cards. These will now be sorted into a single set, The Core Set. In it, the cards will gradually rotate, so it will not happen so often that cards that dominate the decks for many years in a row remain in the game, even despite the efforts of the developers to balance them. The new set of cards will feature old acquaintances as well as dozens of new faces. The welcome news is that all of them will be available completely free of charge.
