Zhen Chengfei said Huawei remains committed to buying components from American firms and that restoring his company's access to American goods is mutually beneficial. In addition, he suggested that the sanctions against Huawei hurt US suppliers.

At the same time, the boss of the technology giant denied informace, that Huawei is leaving the smartphone market. "We have decided that there is no way we are going to sell our consumer devices, our smartphone business," he said.
