For several months now, there have been speculations in the air that Samsung's upcoming flexible phone Galaxy The Z Fold 3 will support the S Pen stylus. Now that's according to a new report from Korean site ETNews cited by the server Android Authority more than likely - Samsung is said to have managed to develop the necessary technology after some difficulties.

Samsung should start mass producing the relevant components from May and finished devices from July. It will be introduced in the third quarter of this year (so far, some sources have speculated about May or June).

The South Korean tech giant is said to have had to deal with several difficulties while developing the technology that allows the use of a stylus on a flexible display. According to ETNews, the first hurdle was to make a display that could withstand the pressure of the S Pen, as the stylus would leave scratches and other damage on current flexible devices. The second obstacle was said to be that the digitizer used to recognize the touch of the S Pen also had to be flexible.

Galaxy The Fold 3 should have a 7,55-inch AMOLED display, a 6,21-inch external screen, a Snapdragon 888 chipset, at least 12 GB of RAM and at least 256 GB of internal memory, a 4500 mAh battery and 5G support sewing. It is also speculated that it will be the first Samsung device to have an under-display camera.
