The founder of the Chinese technology giant Huawei, Zhen Chengfei, made it known that "the company must strive to make first-class products from third-class components." This approach should be part of the company's efforts to strengthen its position despite the difficult situation it has been in for almost two years.

Zhen Chengfei also stated during the company's internal meeting, according to the South China Morning Post, that "in the past we had 'spare parts' for high-end products, but now Huawei's US has blocked access to such components, and even commercialized products cannot be supplied to us ". He also said the firm needs to "work hard to sell sellable products and services and maintain a core business market position in 2021." Without being more specific, he added that "Huawei must have the courage to leave some countries, some customers, some products and scenarios."

Earlier, the boss and founder of the smartphone giant has expressed that the company needs to decentralize its operations while slimming down its product line and focus on generating profit in order to survive US government sanctions.

However, he may still have a reason to smile - after Huawei's new foldable phone Mate x2, which was launched on the Chinese market today, has just gathered dust according to the latest reports. And this despite the very high price tag, when the 8/256 GB variant costs 17 yuan (roughly CZK 999) and the 59/600 GB variant costs 8 yuan (approximately CZK 512).
