Well, of course Huntdown isn't from the 1980s. However, a game that clearly takes its inspiration from a decade filled with over-the-top action shooters couldn't be assigned a more fitting label. Huntdown was released last year on PC and consoles, where it impressed players and critics alike. However, the mobile port appears with more delay than it seems at first glance. This version of the game was developed by Cofee Stain Studios they already mentioned when the game itself was announced five years ago, now at least they confirm that it is still in the plan.

As we mentioned above, Huntdown draws inspiration from the 1980s, both action movies and similarly over-the-top video games. While playing, you will be reminded of other frenetic shooters, such as the Contra series. In the game, you can choose between three different bounty hunters, who differ mainly in their appearance apart from one ability. You can also grind the game in two players on large platforms, we will see if this option remains in the version for mobile devices.

Apparently, the studio was waiting for the game to be accepted on major platforms before investing in a mobile port. So now we only got the announcement that with the pro version Android still counting and should arrive sometime this year. How do you like similar retro games?
