Samsung has been making strides in the field of chipsets in recent months – it has already launched an upper mid-range chip on the scene Exynos 1080 and flagship Exynos 2100, which definitely did not disappoint with their performance. Now she appeared on the air informace, that the tech giant is going to introduce three new Exynos this year.
Behind the new leak is none other than leaker veteran Ice universe, according to which Samsung will reveal the Exynos 8xx, Exynos 12xx and Exynos 22xx chips this year. Their model numbers are still not entirely clear, however the Exynos 8xx could be the same mid-range chipset that is the site mentioned earlier in the week GalaxyClub. The last mentioned Exynos is most likely a new generation chipset Exynos 2200, which will include a powerful GPU from AMD.
As for the Exynos 12xx, it could be the successor to the Exynos 1080 chip and thus aim at higher mid-range smartphones. However, this is only our speculation.
Exynos chipsets have often been criticized in the past for overheating and resulting performance throttling. This has largely changed for the better with the arrival of the Exynos 1080 and Exynos 2100 chips, but it's still not enough to rival Qualcomm's Snapdragons.
