Samsung, which is the world's largest manufacturer of OLED panels for smartphones, wants to focus even more on the gaming phone market. Its 6,78-inch OLED panel, which has a native refresh rate of 120Hz, is used by the recently introduced gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone 5. The display also has a billion colors, FHD+ resolution, HDR10+ standard and a brightness of up to 1200 nits.

Samsung, or rather its Samsung Display division, has made it known that it wants to sell such panels to more brands that make gaming phones. It also mentioned that its latest high-refresh OLED panel received from the seamstresscars company SGS Seamless Display and Eye certification Care Display. SGS is one of the world's largest certification companies.

Recently, various brands, including Samsung, have been launching smartphones with high display frequencies to offer gamers a superior gaming experience. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, people are staying at home a lot more and playing games on mobile phones, consoles or computers, among other things. Smartphone manufacturers want to take advantage of this situation by offering gaming phones with fast chips and screens with high refresh rates (most often 90 and 120 Hz).

Samsung Display has a huge lead in the OLED smartphone market and also entered the notebook market last year. Its 15,6-inch OLED display with 4K resolution is used by the Razer Blade 15 (2020) gaming laptop. The company also recently introduced 14 and 15,6-inch 90Hz OLED panels for notebooks.
