Samsung has secured another client in Canada for its 5G network telecommunications equipment. It became SaskTel. The South Korean technology giant will be the sole supplier of 20G and 4G equipment to the company, which was founded in the early 5th century, for its RAN (Radio Access Network) and network core.

SaskTel said it has confidence in "Samsung's state-of-the-art 5G technologies" and the "exceptional connectivity inherent in its 5G solutions." Samsung will supply the company with all the necessary hardware and software to ensure its successful entry into the 5G field.

According to SaskTel, the 5G collaboration between it and Samsung is an important step in laying the foundation for smart cities, next-generation virtual healthcare, immersive education, smart agriculture technology and next-gen gaming.

SaskTel is not Samsung's first or only Canadian client in this very fast-growing technology area. At the end of 2019, Vidéotron signed a contract with the technology giant to supply its 5G equipment, and last year TELUS, the third largest telecommunications company in the country, did the same.

In this industry, in addition to Canada and the US, Samsung has recently been focusing on Europe, where it wants to take advantage of the ongoing problems of the telecommunications and smartphone giant Huawei, Japan and India.
