Samsung's latest fully wireless headphones Galaxy Buds pro in addition to great sound quality, they offer many practical functions such as active noise cancellation, voice detection or Ambient Sound. And it was with the latter that a new study found that it can help people with mild or moderate hearing loss.

A new study conducted by the Samsung Medical Center suggests that Ambient Sound is effective in helping those with mild hearing loss. Galaxy Buds Pro can help these people hear the sounds around them better. The study was published in the prestigious scientific journal Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology.

The study evaluated the effectiveness of the headphone function compared to a hearing aid and a personal sound amplification product. All three devices passed tests evaluating their electroacoustics, sound amplification and clinical performance.

The study tested the headphones' equivalent input noise, output sound pressure level and THD (total harmonic distortion). In addition, their ability to amplify sound at seven different frequencies was also tested. The research participants, aged 63 on average, had moderate hearing impairments and 57% reported that Galaxy Buds Pro helped them communicate in a quiet environment. The headphones were found to be effective at frequencies of 1000, 2000 and 6000 Hz.

The test showed that the headphones work comparable to hearing aids. They can amplify ambient sounds by up to 20 decibels and offer four levels of customization.
