The already iconic Rocket League, in which the developers from Psyonix introduced a new sports discipline of football with rocket-powered cars, is finally heading to smartphones. After its release in 2015, the popularity of the game began to decline rather quickly, but there are currently attempts to revitalize it. The first step towards it was the conversion of the game to a free-to-play model, the second is certainly the announcement of the mobile port of Rocket League Sideswipe.

Of course, we cannot expect a full-fledged transfer of the game from major platforms on mobile screens. At first glance, you can tell from the video above that the entire game has shifted from a free-camera perspective to side-view action. After all, control on touch screens has its limits, the complicated movement of toy cars would probably not work with a free camera. However, fans of racquetball will not lose their favorite tricks. The developers promise that despite the change in control and perspective, the same tricks that we are used to from versions on major platforms will remain in the game.

However, game modes will undergo a change. We can't wait for five-man team battles anymore. In Rocket League Sideswipe, you will be able to play either solo or in pairs. Selected players can already experience how much these modifications will change the gaming experience in the test alpha version. However, it is only available in Australia and New Zealand. The rest of us will have to wait for the full version of the game to be released later this year.
