Android continues to be a target of targeted malware attacks. The open source nature of the platform is a certain disadvantage in terms of security. It is not uncommon to hear that on Androida new malware has appeared that threatens user data. And that's what happened now - in this case, it's malware that masquerades as a system update while taking control of the compromised device and stealing all of its data.

The malware is distributed through an application called System Update. It is circulating on the Internet, you will not find it in the Google Play store. The only way to install the app at the moment is to sideload it. Once installed, the malware hides on the phone and starts sending data to the servers of the people who created it. The new malicious code was discovered by cyber security experts at Zimperium. According to their findings, the malware can steal phone contacts, messages, use the phone's camera to take photos, turn on the microphone or even track the victim's location. It is actually a clever piece of malware as it tries to avoid detection by not using much network data. It does this by uploading image previews to the attacker's servers instead of the entire image.

According to the company, it is one of the most sophisticated androidof malware she has ever encountered. The only way to protect against it is to not sideload any apps on your Samsung device.
