Samsung was the biggest smartphone maker last year, but was overtaken in the last quarter thanks to the success of the iPhone 12 Apple. However, the Cupertino technology giant did not hold the lead for long, according to new reports, Samsung once again dominated the ranking of global smartphone shipments in February.

According to marketing research company Strategy Analytics, the Korean tech giant shipped a total of 24 million smartphones to the global market in February, securing a market share of 23,1%. Apple in contrast, it shipped one million fewer smartphones and its market share was 22,2%. Although Samsung managed to take back the lead before the end of the first quarter of this year, the gap between the two tech giants is now much smaller than it used to be in previous years. In the past, Samsung used to be ahead in the first quarter Applem lead and five or more percentage points. Now it is less than a percentage point, which may already threaten its position, even if it is "technically" the largest smartphone manufacturer. (Anyway, it's possible that Samsung's lead will widen again in the next few quarters, thanks to promising new phones in the series Galaxy And, as it is Galaxy A52 to A72.)

In light of the new report, it seems that the company's strategy to launch a new flagship series Galaxy S21 earlier, it paid off for her. As you know, a lot Galaxy Samsung has traditionally revealed its products to the public in February or March, but presented the latest "flagship" already in mid-January.
