She has already looked at consoles and personal computers in the past, on which she received a very positive reaction, because it offers a unique concept that gives players a lot of freedom when solving the mystery. In the game, you are tasked with deciphering the message of the deceased man's diary. But it is written in a mysterious code.
However, the developer is not so cruel as to put impossible ciphers into the game. In the diary, you will have simpler, but at the same time rather demanding placeholder ciphers waiting for you. In those, you will always have to match each of the letters to another one and over time figure out how the entire alphabet is shifted. For this, you will be served by assigned photos, found notes of the deceased, as well as special tools to facilitate the deciphering procedures. Minimalistic graphics reveal the story of a lived life over time, accompanied by perfect music in the background.
The Wake is the third installment in the so-called guilt trilogy, which developer Somi Koo has been creating since 2016. The other two games in the series – Replica and Legal Dungeon – are available at a special discount to mark the release of the new installment.
