The Prague innovation marathon #NakopniPrahu advances to the next phase. An expert jury assessed the submitted ideas from 25 teams and selected the best 13 to advance to the next round. Young innovators were most interested in the topic of development and strengthening of community relations. Advancing teams will work until the end of June with the help of mentors and experts on prototype solutions, which they will present at the gala finale on June 26. The winning projects will receive financial support in the total amount of CZK 100 and help with the implementation of their idea.

The goal of the second annual Prague Innovation Marathon is to invent and develop projects that will improve the lives of the citizens of Prague using modern technologies or innovative solutions. In February, an expert jury selected the best teams from the applications, which participated in the "Foundry", where they got to know the challenges in detail. This year's challenges include: health, environment, energy, safety and transport, communities, sustainable tourism and culture, education and training, and data.

Based on the project intentions submitted via the online form, the expert jury selected 13 advancing final teams who will receive a financial contribution to bring their ideas to completion and prepare a working prototype solution.

The advancing teams are:

  1. Team Hadi with the project Go to hell, which comes up with a design for runners. It is a patch with the necessary equipment, such as lockers for storing things, marked routes in the adjacent park and signs with informaceme about warm-up techniques or with map materials.
  2. Collboard team with the project Collboard.com or virtual blackboard for schools. The application is intended for online teaching as well as hybrid teaching, when the class is divided into several parts, either at school or at home.
  3. The Lostik team with the project Smart keychain, which contains a unique ID, linked in different databases, which can be used in different ways, e.g. if someone finds the keys, they will bring them to the office, where there will be a lost and found box, where they will attach the Lostik. It will then be sent automatically informace to the key owner where his keys are located and where he can collect them.
  4. Team Aignos with a project that will help young people find their way around AI. He will show the principles of its operation and present how they can actively use it themselves.
  5. Team Students PRO doctors with a project Medics FOR vaccinations. It aims to support doctors in the fight against declining vaccination rates, which is a major threat to public health, and to connect knowledge from medicine and communication studies.
  6. Team metacity with a project that aims to simplify communication between citizens, developers, non-profit organizations, city institutions and other interest groups involved in city planning through data visualization.
  7. Paioneers team with the project Prague is energy self-sufficient, which deals with the production and storage of electricity at the point of consumption in Prague.
  8. Team Spolu Biznys and NGO with the project We grow together for Prague, which aims to connect Prague companies declaring an interest in cooperation with NGOs and which can measure the social impact of their activities and can also communicate them.
  9. Team SenEDU with a project that offers a simple online tutoring platform. It provides a direct and contactless connection between the senior lecturer and the student.
  10. The Nature in Prague team with the project soul roots, which focuses on improving a person's mental health through spending time in nature accompanied by exercises leading to personal growth.
  11. The tvemesto.cz team with the project Neighborhood network, which mediates people's interaction with their surroundings in information, communication and social terms. In addition, it offers a number of practical tools to deal with situations in everyday life.
  12. Intermodal team with the project TAXI Litačka, transport services combining the speed of backbone public transport in the city center and the comfort of TAXI outside the center.
  13. Team Tnght with a project that aims to guide each user through the night life in Prague from A to Z. Tourists and locals will have a digital overview of all places where alcohol is not allowed and will receive a notification when the night's quiet begins.

The final of the Prague Innovation Marathon will take place on June 26, 2021 in the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning, or in CAMP. In the meantime, finalists can participate in workshops and consult projects with organizers and mentors from the field of city administration, universities, urban planning, but also the commercial sphere.
