Sony has finally released an update that fixes compatibility issues with Samsung TVs. Its latest PS5 console does offer support for 4K 120 fps gaming with HDR, but this has not been possible on Samsung TVs until now. This was due to a bug related to HDMI 2.1 and Sony firmware.

Samsung confirmed in January that Sony was working to fix the problem. The Japanese giant said at the time that it would release the relevant update in March, but that apparently did not happen. So the update came out a month later and Sony seems to have started rolling it out globally. After the update, the PS5 will finally be able to display 4K HDR content at 120 frames per second, but that's not all. According to other reports, the latest update finally allows console users to move games from the internal SSD drive to a USB drive, but this feature is only for saving them, as USB drives are not fast enough. Unfortunately, support for M.2 storage is still missing, but it looks like it will be added sometime this summer, which could give Samsung increased SSD sales.
