Despite not selling a smart speaker in Europe, Samsung has become a giant in the smart home space on the old continent. In the last quarter of last year, it was the third largest seller of smart home devices, behind Google and Amazon.

According to IDC, Samsung shipped 2020 million smart home devices in Europe in the fourth quarter of 4,91 and had a share of 11,9%. However, this is a 2,4% year-on-year decrease. Google was second, shipping 5,16 million devices and holding a 12,5% ​​share. Amazon was the market leader with 7,47 million devices shipped and a share of 18,1%. The top five largest players in this field are rounded out by LG (4,33 million devices, 10,5% share) and Sony (1,91 million, 4,7%).

The smart home industry includes devices such as smart speakers, home security cameras and sensors, thermostats or smart TVs.
