On today's market we can find hundreds of different monitors, which always differ from each other in one and the same way. Of course, we are talking about the diagonal, resolution, panel type, response, refresh rate and so on. But it seems that Samsung does not continue to play on these captured schemes, as evidenced by their series smart monitor. These are quite interesting pieces that combine the best of the monitor and TV worlds together. Let's quickly introduce this series.
Monitor and smart TV in one
We would currently find 3 models in the Smart Monitors menu, which we will get to later. The most interesting are the general functions. These pieces not only bring something new, but at the same time reflect the needs of today, when due to the global pandemic we spend most of our time at home, where we also work or study. That is exactly why each monitor is equipped with an integrated Tizen (Smart Hub) operating system. The moment we are no longer working, we can immediately switch to smart TV mode and enjoy streaming applications such as Netflix, YouTube, O2TV, HBO GO and the like. Of course, this requires an internet connection, which Smart Monitor provides without unnecessary cables via WiFi.
Content mirroring and Office 365

Personally, I was also interested in the presence of technologies for simple content mirroring. It goes without saying that Samsung DeX is supported in this regard. In any case, even Apple fans will find it useful, as they can mirror content from iPhone, iPad and Mac via AirPlay 2. Another point of interest is the support for the Office 365 office package. In order to use it, when using the Smart Monitor, we do not even need to connect a computer, since everything is taken care of directly by the computing power of the monitor as such. In this way, we can specifically access the data on our cloud. For the aforementioned work, we need to connect a mouse and keyboard, which we can solve again wirelessly.
First class picture quality
Of course, one of the most basic things of a quality monitor is first class image. Specifically, these models boast a VA panel with HDR support and a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m2. The contrast ratio is then listed as 3000:1 and the response time is 8ms. What's even more interesting, though, is Adaptive Picture. Thanks to this function, the monitor can adjust the image (brightness and contrast) depending on the surrounding conditions and thus provide a perfect display of content in any situation.
Available models
Samsung currently has in its menu Smart Monitors two models, namely M5 and M7. The M5 model offers a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and is available in 27" and 32" versions. The best of the best is the 32" M7 model. Compared to its siblings, it is equipped with 4K UHD resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and also has a USB-C port, which can be used not only for image transfer, but also for powering our laptop.
