Although the introduction of Samsung's next flagship series Galaxy S22 is still far away, rumors about it have already started to enter the airwaves the first alleged informace. According to the latest unofficial reports, the top-of-the-range model – the S22 Ultra – will feature a 200 MPx Olympus-branded camera and S Pen support.

The latest leak, coming from South Korea, contradicts an older leak that talked about a 22MP main camera for the S108 Ultra (the S22 and S22+ models will get a 50MP main camera, according to an even older leak). The new leak also mentions that the top model will have stylus support (its predecessor already had it) and a total of five cameras that will carry the world-famous Olympus photography brand. If this were true, Olympus would join other famous brands such as Zeiss, Leica or Hasselblad, which have been working with various smartphone manufacturers on their cameras for some time.

The question is, what would Samsung actually need a Japanese manufacturer for? The Korean tech giant previously produced its own professional mirrorless cameras. It is also a global leader in smartphone camera technologies. His alleged collaboration with Olympus would thus make sense from a marketing rather than a technological point of view.
