About Samsung's next flexible phones Galaxy We know practically everything about the Fold 3 and Flip 3 from various recent leaks, but there are still a few pieces to add to the complete puzzle. One of them is the exact determination of the degree of IP protection. Well-known leaker Max Weinbach has now come up with information that the phones' resistance will be ensured by IPX8 certification.

The IPX8 standard is similar to the IP68 certification that smartphones like Galaxy S21 or Galaxy Notes 20 Ultra. This means it can withstand immersion in water up to 1,5m deep for up to 30 minutes.

Galaxy However, the Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 will not be resistant to dust, which is understandable due to the moving parts in the joint. Samsung has developed a "brush" mechanism that removes dust particles from the hinge of its flexible phones, and has apparently improved it in the next "puzzles". However, it looks like not enough to give them at least some dust resistance.

In addition to IP resistance, both phones should feature improved UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) to protect the display and have a smaller gap between their two sides when closed.

The new "benders" of the Korean technology giant will be - together with a smart watch Galaxy Watch 4 a Watch 4 Classic and wireless headphones Galaxy buds 2 – presented on August 11.
