Samsung yesterday in addition to new folding smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, smart watch Galaxy Watch 4 to Watch 4 Classic and wireless headphones Galaxy buds 2 also introduced the new S Pen Pro touch pen. He had previously revealed this during the presentation of the phone Galaxy S21Ultra, now he presented them "fully" with everything.

The S Pen Pro is compatible with the new "jigsaw puzzle" Galaxy Z Fold 3, but its use is not - unlike the S Pen Fold Edition - limited to folding devices. In the eyes of Samsung, the new stylus is supposed to bridge the gap between the unique digitizer of the third Fold and other devices Galaxy, which support S Pen.

The third-generation Fold doesn't work with regular S Pens because its flexible display required a unique digitizer (the layer that registers the touch of the pen), so Samsung had to develop a new S Pen for it.

The S Pen Pro is technically an S Pen that has two different polarities – or modes – and a physical button to switch between them. The first mode only works with the third Fold and no other device. The second mode works with any other smartphone or tablet Galaxy supporting the "normal" S Pen, but temporarily disables Fold 3 compatibility.

S Pen Pro users can seamlessly switch between the third Fold and another smartphone or tablet Galaxy by pressing the switch at the end of it if both devices are signed in to the same Samsung account.

The S Pen Pro otherwise measures 173,64mm in length, has a diameter of 9,5mm and weighs 13,8g, which means it's bigger and heavier than the regular S Pen or S Pen Fold Edition. It has a pairing button and an LED indicator, and the wine also got a new Pro Tip, which is softer and retracts slightly under pressure to protect the flexible display.

Just like the other products presented at yesterday's event Galaxy Unpacked, the new stylus will be available from August 27 and its price has been set at $99,99 (roughly 2 crowns).
