Last week, Samsung introduced new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. The latter, like the former, has powerful hardware, including a Snapdragon 888 chipset, 8 GB of LPDDR5 operating memory and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. However, it has now been revealed that it lacks one of the Korean giant's best productivity features.

This feature is Samsung DeX, which is very popular among Samsung fans. Not even the original one got it into the wine FlipNor Flip 5G, but there was speculation last year that they might get it via a software update. However, this has not happened yet. Many users of these "puzzles" are complaining quite loudly about the absent DeX on Samsung's official forums, but Samsung has not yet confirmed whether the function will eventually arrive on these devices.

When the phone is connected to a monitor or TV via a USB-C to HDMI cable or via Wi-Fi Direct, DeX allows it to function as a desktop PC of sorts. The user can create and edit documents, surf the Internet in a standard multi-window browser, and view photos or watch videos on a larger screen. DeX also works on computers, which is great for transferring files between your phone and PC.
