Alza.cz, in cooperation with the integrator Balíkobot operating the Lockers.ai platform, makes the capacity of the AlzaBox network available to carriers and interested parties from e-shops. All partners connected to Balíkobot and customers of thousands of e-shops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia can thus have their shipments delivered to the most robust network of boxes with more than 100 delivery boxes located across both countries.
Together with Balíkobot, Alza.cz connected the AlzaBox distribution network to the Lockers.ai platform. The cooperation between the two companies will improve the quality of delivery services in particular e-shop customers, but also to all other customers of more than 2 entities cooperating with the technology-logistics integrator Balíkobot. They thus get access to over 500 new dispensing points with over 1 dispensing boxes.
"Our goal is to make AlzaBoxes as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Customers are increasingly preferring to pick up orders in person, mainly due to time freedom, security and choice. Thanks to the connection with Lockers.ai, we can open AlzaBoxes to other e-commerce players and allow them to deliver goods from thousands of Czech and Slovak e-shops. Customers will therefore be able to have their orders delivered to the most robust and dense network of delivery boxes on the market, numbering more than 1 delivery points," said Jan Moudřík, director of expansion and facility management at Alza.cz.
"This unique connection will speed up delivery for our partners and expand the number of places where their customers can pick up goods at their time, without waiting and without restrictions on opening hours," says Martin Coufal of Lockers.ai. "During the spring, we successfully integrated AlzaBoxes into Lockers.ai and tested all functionalities, now we are gradually launching them so that all planned 1 AlzaBoxes with their 500 dispensing boxes are available through Lockers.ai in the fall," Coufal explained.
Since the beginning of last year, Alza.cz has more than quadrupled the capacity of its distribution box network to the current more than 100 disposable boxes. By the middle of next year, the largest Czech e-shop wants to triple this number and operate over 3 AlzaBoxes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
The popularity of delivery to AlzaBoxes is constantly growing. At the same time, increasing network capacity and ease of collection are gradually changing customer behavior. Customers have realized that they no longer have to adapt their daily schedule to the arrival time of the courier with the parcel or the opening hours of the collection point, but can pick up their parcel at any time without queuing in a few seconds. From the region last year, the share of shipments delivered via AlzaBoxes represented 6%, now every third shipment from the Alza e-shop is delivered this way.
The advantage of AlzaBoxes is that the customer does not need anything at all for the collection itself. Anyone from a small child to an elderly person can use them, and they don't even need a smartphone or technical skills. You don't even have to pay in advance, because the box itself allows for payment. The whole process is as easy as withdrawing money from an ATM.
