As is known, Samsung Display is the world's largest supplier of smartphone OLED displays. Its main customer is, of course, its sister company Samsung Electronics. However, recent reports suggest that the company might start buying OLED panels from Chinese manufacturers as well.

According to Chinese website cheaa.com cited by SamMobile, there is a possibility that another major Chinese OLED panel supplier (in addition to the previously speculated BOE) will join Samsung's OLED supply chain. This could lead to more Samsung smartphones using Chinese OLED panels.

According to the website, the reason why the Korean tech giant decided to use Chinese OLED panels is because it wants to increase its competitiveness in the segment of the cheapest smartphones. Chinese OLED panels cost less than those from the Samsung Display division, which will allow Samsung to fit more devices with them and remain price competitive.

One of the first Samsung devices that could use Chinese OLED panels could be the new models of the series Galaxy M from the aforementioned display giant BOE. That "next big supplier" could be TCL, with which Samsung has a close relationship. Last year, he sold her a production line for LCD displays in the city of Suzhou and also acquired an equity stake in it.
