A few weeks ago we reported that Samsung's new smartphone for the middle class Galaxy A52s 5G received an update that brings the RAM Plus function, which virtually expands the size of the operating memory with the help of part of the internal memory. Now another device from the Korean smartphone giant is getting it – a phone Galaxy A52 5G and a new "puzzle" Galaxy From Fold 3.

With the new Fold, the question is whether the RAM Plus function will help anything if the device has more than enough 12 GB of operating memory available. AT Galaxy The A52 5G (A52s 5G) feature makes more sense since both phones have "only" 6 or 8 GB of RAM. Even with a device with this size of operating memory, however, RAM Plus is not completely needed, because the system Android it already uses the function of virtual memory (or memory paging), and in addition, if necessary, it turns off applications and services running in the background.

For completeness - RAM Plus is not customizable, it always adds 4GB of virtual memory. We will see if Samsung expands the function to smartphones with really small operating memory (less than 4 GB), where it would find more use.
