Press Release: The best startups in Europe will be selected this afternoon at the Startup World Cup & Summit in Prague. The event, which Steve Wozniak will join live remotely, was preceded on Tuesday by the regional round of the Startup World Cup competition for the Visegrad Four region. Among the 12 finalists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, the Czech project Tatum, whose breakthrough platform simplifies the creation of blockchains, won supremely. The jury then awarded the wild card to another Czech startup – Readmio. It is a mobile application that complements storytelling with sound effects in real time. Both Czech representatives will fight for the title of European champion and the possibility of an immediate investment of 0,5 million dollars already on Wednesday in the early evening.

"Over 4 applications arrived in the V400 regional round this year. From them, we selected 12 finalists, who competed in front of an 8-member jury of experienced investors at the Prague HubHub. Each startup had 4 minutes to present, followed by another 4 minutes of follow-up questions from the judges.” SWCSummit director Tomáš Cironis explained the principle of the startup competition.

The winner was immediately clear, there was an immediate consensus among the judges. “Blockchains may not be understood by a large part of society, but their potential is enormous. Tatum offers a tool that revolutionally simplifies the creation of blockchains, making them accessible to a much larger number of businesses. In addition, this startup is at a stage where its solution actually works and is verified in practice," jury member Adam Kočík from J&T Ventures explained the reasons for the victory.

On the other hand, the jurors deliberated for tens of minutes about the second advancing. In the end, they decided to award a wild card to a project that has the potential to change something for the better in society. According to them, this criterion was best met by the startup Readmio, which with its mobile application wants to motivate parents to spend more time with their children telling fairy tales. In the future, an application supplementing stories with sound effects could also contribute to education and approach to more complex topics.

Steve Wozniak will brighten up the European finals of the competition

The pan-European winner will be decided this afternoon. A total of 0,5 finalists from previous regional rounds will compete for the title of "startup champion of Europe" and a potential investment of 21 million dollars from the organizing companies Air Ventures and UP9. The competition will start at 16.20:18 p.m. Around XNUMX p.m., when the jury will decide on the winner, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will join from California. It will be possible to watch the live broadcast of the event on the website from this morning www.swcsummit.com.

A legend of computer engineering Steve Wozniak for example, a world-renowned teacher and journalist will complete her performance Esther Wojcicki – often nicknamed the “Godmother of Silicon Valley”. Esther is the author of a bestselling book on raising successful people and, among other things, mentored Steve Jobs' daughter.

He will be another bright personality Kyle Corbitt. The president of Y Combinator, one of the largest startup incubators in the world, has created something like Tinder for startup founders. Its software application helps bring together ideal startup partners.

He then introduces the audience to cosmic themes Fiammetta Diani – a woman in charge of market development at the European Union Space Program Agency (EUSPA).
