In the past few weeks, reports have hit the airwaves suggesting that Samsung's next flagship series Galaxy The S22 could support 45W fast charging. But now it looks like it won't, at least according to China's 3C certification.

According to leaked information from the Chinese certification authority, there will be models Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra support fast charging with a maximum power of only 25 W, i.e. the same as this year's flagship series Galaxy S21.

Models Galaxy According to the certification documents, the S22 destined for the Chinese market will specifically use the 25W Samsung EP-TA800 charger, which has been part of the Korean tech giant's portfolio since the introduction of the smartphone Galaxy Note 10 two years ago. It can be expected that models for the European market will have the same charging speed.

If Samsung doesn't increase the charging speed in the next "flagship", it will be a big competitive disadvantage for it, because its rivals (especially the Chinese ones like Xiaomi, Oppo or Vivo) today routinely offer two to three times the charging power in their flagship models, and this is no exception nor a speed of 100 or more W. Here, the Korean smartphone giant has a lot to catch up on.
