To the popular chat application Viber, which recently crossed the milestone of one million downloads within the Play Store, a great feature has arrived that we can already easily recognize. Users can now send so-called disappearing messages within group conversations, where it can be set whether his message should disappear from 10 seconds to 24 hours. Until now, the function was only available in "one-on-one" chats. To avoid this trick, of course, the given messages cannot be copied or forwarded.

Thanks to this extension of the popular feature, Viber users can set their messages in group chats to disappear after 10 seconds, 1 minute, 1 hour, or 1 day after being read, which significantly outperforms similar features in other chat applications. On phones with an operating system Android 6 (or later) Viber even completely disables the ability to forward, copy and create screenshots in cases where the disappearing message function is active. For people using older versions Androidat or iOS, then all members of that conversation will be notified when a member takes a screenshot. The function can then generally be used for all types of messages, including photos and stickers.

In addition, the novelty has a number of uses and in some cases it can come in handy. An example could be organizing an outdoor party, where you can simply send the numerical code to the lock to the group, and all you have to do is set the message to disappear after a minute. In addition, as is customary with Viber, all conversations are also end-to-end encrypted, thus providing users with the maximum level of security and privacy. This is also supported by disappearing messages, which are available not only in ordinary chats, but also in group chats. Rakuten Viber's product vice president, Nadav Melnick, comments very positively on this news. According to him, the company shows an emphasis on security and brings people another great option.
