A few days ago, MediaTek launched its new high-end chip Dimensity 9000. Its specifications show that it is ready for the flagship market. According to leaker Ice Universe, MediaTek will send it to all popular androidbrands, including market leader Samsung.

Since it has already been confirmed that the phones of the upcoming flagship series Galaxy S22 will be powered by Snapdragon 898 (Snapdragon 8 Gen1) chipsets and Exynos 2200, Samsung could use the Dimensity 9000 in a flagship smartphone in the second half of next year.

Since TSMC's 4nm process is said to be more efficient than Samsung's 4nm EUV process, it's possible that the Dimensity 9000 will be as powerful or even more powerful than the upcoming high-end chipsets from Qualcomm and Samsung. Dimensity 9000 seems to offer really brutal performance - it is equipped with one super powerful Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3,05 GHz, three powerful Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2,85 GHz and four economical Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1,8 GHz. The chipset also boasts a 710-core 10MHz Mali-G850 GPU that supports ray tracing, a quad-channel LPDDR5X memory controller, and a 6MB system cache. According to MediaTek, its performance is comparable to Apple's current flagship A15 Bionic chip, even under long-term load.
