Samsung has finally announced when it will introduce its new Exynos 2200 flagship chipset. It will do so next week, on January 11th.

The Exynos 2200 will likely be built on the same 4nm manufacturing process used by Qualcomm's new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. It's almost certain to power the phones Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + a Galaxy S22Ultra.

According to unofficial reports, Samsung will use the new chip in devices Galaxy S22, which will be launched on the European and Korean markets. The variants with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 should then reach the markets of North America, China and India.

The Exynos 2200 should include one super powerful Cortex-X2 processor core, three powerful Cortex-A710 cores and four economical Cortex-A510 cores and a graphics chip from AMD built on the RNDA 2 architecture, which will support ray tracing, HDR or shading technology variable speed (VRS). In addition, it will apparently have an improved 5G modem, a better image processor or an improved processor for AI. According to unofficial information, it will offer roughly a third higher processor and approximately a fifth higher graphics performance than its predecessor Exynos 2100.

In addition to the mentioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the new chipset of the Korean technology giant will face competition in the form of the Dimensity 9000 chip from the increasingly ambitious MediaTek.
