Foldable phones are probably the future, so it's no wonder that almost every manufacturer is testing their launch. The leader in the field of foldable phones is of course Samsung at the moment, but foldable phones with different form factors have also been released by Motorola, Huawei, Oppo and others. Now the former sub-brand Huawei Honor is also jumping on the bandwagon with its Magic V flagship.

The Honor Magic V is a classic folding phone that is based on the design of the Z Fold and similar ones. In terms of specifications, the exterior of the phone features a 120Hz 6,45-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels (431 PPI). When opened, the main 7,9-inch OLED display is present with "only" a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2272 x 1984 pixels (321 PPI). The rather massive camera output on the back of the device consists of a 50MPx primary sensor with an aperture of f/1,9, a secondary scalable 50MPx sensor with an aperture of f/2,0, and a 50MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor with an aperture of f/2,2 and a 120-degree field of view. There is also a 42MPx camera at the front with an aperture of f/2,4.

Only 6,7 mm thick

Other hardware features include a brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip made with 4nm technology along with an Adreno 730 GPU, 12GB of RAM, 256 or 512GB of internal storage and a 4750mAh battery with 66W fast charging support (50% charge in 15 minutes). The Magic V measures 160,4 x 72,7 x 14,3 mm when folded and 160,4 x 141,1 x XNUMX when unfolded 6,7 mm. The weight is 288 or 293 grams, depending on which variant you go for. The one with artificial leather is still present. On the software side, the device is running Android 12 with UI 6.0 superstructure.

But why Samsung Galaxy The Fold 3 does not have to worry too much about its place in the limelight yet, the fact is that it is not known how it will be with the distribution of the product outside of China. In any case, it is important that other brands also enter the segment of "puzzles" and try to bring appropriate innovations. Of course, we are looking forward to February 9th, when we will learn the shape of the new line Galaxy S22, but also for summer and the new Z Foldy 4.
