Two months ago, Samsung released the Expert RAW app for the series Galaxy S21. After its launch, the company had already released an update to the application that fixed critical bugs. Now the South Korean firm has announced that it will release another useful update later this month.

A Samsung Members forum moderator announced that a new version of Expert RAW will be released on January 22, 2022. The app will be able to be updated through the store Galaxy Store and will bring bug fixes and performance improvements. In particular, a known bug will be fixed informace about the shutter speed when taking pictures with a long exposure time.

However, the update is also supposed to fix the problem of bad pixels that sometimes appear when using the telephoto lens. It also fixes a bug that can sometimes appear when shooting extremely bright scenes or highly saturated objects. Even if new functions are not added, the application should also be extended to other phones that can handle its demands, i.e. those that primarily have a sufficiently powerful processor. You can get Expert RAW for your device install here.

RAW is more for professionals

The app offers a wider dynamic range when shooting, allowing you to capture much more information in a scene, from dark areas to bright ones. It also includes full manual input and saving the result to a DNG file. Keep in mind, however, that if you shoot in RAW, such a photo must always be edited afterwards. After all, this is more advanced photography, which is certainly not suitable for every snapshot.
