Leaks show that Samsung is developing its first "Ultra" tablet, ie Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, with a cutout in the display. The latter so clearly breaks the symmetry of the rectangular display, but more importantly, the new report says that its selfie camera borrows a key feature from the iPads, which offer so-called centering of the shot.

Apple o Centering the Shot says it uses machine learning to adjust the front-facing ultra-wide camera when you're using video apps like FaceTime and more on a compatible iPad model. So when you're moving, Frame Centering helps keep you and anyone else in the frame. The feature is currently available on the 12,9" iPad Pro 5th generation, 11" iPad Pro 3rd generation, iPad 9th generation and iPad mini 6th generation. Apple However, the iPad has a camera with its sensors hidden in the frame of the display, which is quite wide.

In Samsung's case, however, its automatic framing debuted with the model Galaxy Z Fold 2, so the company already has experience with it and it makes quite a bit of sense to use it in its flagship tablet as well, although it doesn't look like it should be extended to other models yet, except perhaps the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, the benefit of this feature is obvious and all the more useful in this still-ongoing pandemic era full of video calls.

Clear competition for the iPad Pro

Galaxy Nevertheless, the Tab S8 Ultra is clearly poised to become Samsung's best premium tablet to date, directly competing with the iPad Pro. According to unofficial reports so far, it will have an AMOLED display with a giant size of 14,6" and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the upcoming Samsung Exynos 2200 flagship chipset, 12 GB of operating memory, 256 and 512 GB of internal memory, a rear camera with a resolution of 13 and 8 MPx, a front with a resolution of 8 MPx and a battery with a massive capacity of 12000 mAh. In terms of software, it will apparently be built on Androidwith 12 and the One UI 4.0 superstructure.
