Samsung equips flagship phones with its Exynos chipsets, others with Qualcomm's Snapdragon. It depends on which market the product is intended for. But yesterday he was supposed to show us the Exynos 2200, which he didn't. And because he is about to introduce a line soon Galaxy The S22 might not even get to show us its chip, which is why this top-of-the-line portfolio might ship globally with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.

If we Exynos 2200 in a row Galaxy S22 saw, these pieces would travel to Asia, the Middle East and Europe. China, South Korea, and especially America would get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It's no secret that Snapdragon chipsets continue to outperform Exynos. This was especially true for the series Galaxy The S20, whose Exynos 990 chipset had slower CPU and GPU performance, poorer battery life and inefficient heat management compared to the Snapdragon 865.

Clear criticism

After all, Samsung has been heavily criticized for the poor performance of its chipset compared to Snapdragon. They even appeared petition, which were supposed to try to prevent Samsung from using Exynos processors in its phones. The company's own shareholders also asked it why it was continuing to develop its own chipset at all. But a lot has changed since then. Samsung no longer designs its own CPU cores, so its next chipset labeled Exynos 2100 used in the line Galaxy The S21 already had licensed ARM processors. A similar approach is chosen for the Exynos 2200, which was supposed to be launched with the series Galaxy S22.

Even so, this is Samsung's first mobile chipset equipped with an AMD Radeon-based GPU or GPU. Already in 2019, Samsung announced that it would integrate its own AMD Radeon graphics into future Exynos processors. So everything indicated that the Exynos 2200 will be introduced with the series Galaxy S22. However, it was revealed yesterday that the company has pushed back the launch date indefinitely. It clearly follows that if Samsung doesn't introduce its chip along with the phones (like it does Apple), these will contain Qualcomm's exclusive solution.

Benefits for domestic users

For the average customer, this is an unpleasant step for Samsung, but it is actually a reason for some joy. It would mean that all variants Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ a Galaxy The S22 Ultra released around the world would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, i.e. also here, where models with Exynos are normally sold. Potential customers can thus be sure of maximum performance without compromise. Although of course it's possible that it wouldn't bring any more Exynos 2200, which of course we don't know. Only those who were looking forward to the fruits of Samsung's collaboration with AMD may be disappointed by this news.

So unless the Exynos 2200 comes with a range Galaxy S22, when will we get it? There are of course more options. The first could be its installation in a tablet Galaxy Tab S8, then the summer novelties in the form of a new generation of foldable devices are directly offered Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Of course, the worst possible option is to postpone the introduction of new products Galaxy S22, because the expected date at the beginning of February can still be adjusted.
