Samsung has announced Galaxy Home Mini at its event Galaxy S20 Unpacked in February 2020 (Apple HomePod mini didn't come until November of the same year). Unfortunately, this smart speaker never made it to the global market. Now, however, it looks like the company might be unveiling his successor, with whom it might also have loftier goals.

As noted by the editors of MySmartPrice, Galaxy Home Mini 2 has already been certified by the Special Interest Group (SIG). This "Special Interest Group" is a community within a larger organization with a shared interest in advancing a particular area of knowledge, learning or technology, where members work together to influence or create solutions within their field. According to the listing on the Bluetooth SIG website, the device carries the model number SM-V230 and supports Bluetooth version 5.2.

A report he published in November last year SamMobile, claimed that the successor Galaxy The Home Mini could even be equipped with a display. The smart speaker should also bring several other significant improvements, and it should probably also be released in a larger series than was the case with the original model. But according to the report, it was clearly disappointing that he would Galaxy The Home Mini 2 could only be released in the home market of South Korea, just like its predecessor.

Leaker Max Jambor, who is quite successful especially when it comes to leaks about OnePlus, recently wrote on Twitter that Galaxy Home Mini 2 is "not too far from its introduction". He even added that this smart speaker is already in mass production. The specific date of the market launch has not yet been announced, but there is a chance that we could expect an answer already at the event Galaxy Unpacked early next month, which will feature S-series phones and tablets.

The situation with the competition

It is quite positive to see Samsung's effort to penetrate the next segment. But in order for this effort to be full-fledged, it cannot focus only on the domestic market and must expand outside of it as well. The question is, however, that even if this step happens, whether we will even officially see this product in the country.

Google does not have an official presence here, and therefore its Nest speakers are only available here from imports. The same applies to Apple and its HomePod. He does run his own here Apple Online Store, but since its smart speaker is closely tied to the voice assistant Siri, which still does not speak Czech, it is not officially offered here.
