Samsung continues to roll out the January security patch to more devices. Its latest addressee is the smartphone Galaxy S20FE (the version with 5G support already got it a few days ago).

New update for Galaxy The S20 FE – in the variant with the Exynos 990 chipset – carries the firmware version G780FXXS8DVA1 and is currently distributed in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia or Malaysia, among others, the update for the variant with the Snapdragon 865 chip then comes with the firmware version G780GXXS3BVA5 and is currently available in Egypt, Iraq, Mexico, Paraguay or Brazil. Both updates should roll out to other countries in the coming days.

The January security patch brings a total of 62 fixes, including 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung. Vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones included, but were not limited to, incorrect inbound event sanitization, incorrect implementation of the Knox Guard security service, incorrect authorization in the TelephonyManager service, incorrect exception handling in the NPU driver, or storage of unprotected data in the BluetoothSettingsProvider service.

Galaxy The S20 FE was launched in autumn 2020 with Androidem 10. In the same year, he received an update with Androidem 11 and One UI 3.0 superstructure, early next year superstructure version 3.1 and a few weeks ago Android 12 with superstructure One UI 4.0. It is due to receive one more major system update in the future.
