Last year, Samsung shelved the line Galaxy Note, and this year he intends from the upcoming model Galaxy S22 Ultra made its spiritual successor. On the one hand, S Pen fans who were disappointed by the absence of a new Note model last year should Galaxy Welcome the S22 Ultra, as long as they can look away from the name of the device. On the other hand, fans of the S series may have a few concerns regarding the upcoming model.

This is mainly due to the fact that some believe that the addition of the S Pen deprives the phone of additional features, especially a large battery capacity. In reality, though, the S Pen is probably the least of their worries. The design, which really deviates a lot from the current S21 Ultra, can be the more fundamental.

Debunking the myth that the S Pen kills your phone's battery life

Some voices have started to be heard expressing their concerns about the S Pen taking away from the device's capacity. It is understandable why the customer Galaxy S, who never uses the S Pen, considers its presence unnecessary. If this accessory takes up some internal space, it can limit the size of the battery, which could be larger. But it actually has a minimal effect on the battery.

Already with models Galaxy Note, it was estimated that the S Pen takes only about 100 mAh of battery capacity, which is negligible for such a powerful and energy-intensive smartphone. A difference of 100 mAh in the 5 mAh phone it is supposed to come with Galaxy S22 Ultra, you just won't feel it. In addition, this model also proves that the inclusion of the S Pen does not always cause a decrease in battery capacity. Galaxy The S22 Ultra is supposed to have a battery with a capacity of 5 mAh, i.e. the same as Galaxy S21 Ultra, only with the difference that it has even faster 45W charging.

So if the battery is not smaller, then it must have Galaxy S22 Ultra bigger to fit the S Pen right? Error. They measure according to leaks Galaxy S22 Ultra and S21 Ultra about the same. The newer model should be only 2 mm wider, on the other hand, it should be 2 mm lower in height. The thickness then remains the same. The presentation of the new product is scheduled for February 9, when Samsung will surely explain everything to us as part of its Unpacked event.
